When I read this story for the first time to Lucian he was immediately drawn to the bright park picture. He was also thrilled about the moon! While we spelled out the letters of his name on the the pages, he was very excited that it was his name in the clouds, stones in sand, flowers in dirt, etc. He really got into the story and when we got to the park I said, L-U-C-I-A-N spells? His answer? PARK! While we still have some work to do, I know that he will get lots of practice with this book.

I have three boys, so I wish they had a book that could be equally about all three boys, not just about one person. A pirate story would be PERFECT (my boys are all into pirates…but if you had a pirate book I couldn’t get it for just one, because the others would be jealous). Maybe even books with slightly different stories on the same subject so you could get siblings something similar without getting them the same book. You can let them know they can feel free to e-mail me if they ever do come out with something like that!
