Have a Healthier School Season with Lysol! {Review & Giveaway}

Lysol Logo 2

With the start of the new school year, now is the perfect time to start thinking about how to protect our children (as best we can) from the spread of germs both at home and in the classroom. Lysol wants your children to have the healthiest school year possible and is offering both expert advice and products you help you out!

The Lysol brand has teamed up with Dr. Laura Jana, a pediatrician, mother of three school aged-children and owner of an educational daycare center. She would like to share her back to school checklist with moms to help them prepare their children for a healthy and happy school year. Her tips include:

  • The Health administration is predicting a very serious cold and flu season, so teach your children about healthy hygiene habits before they go back to school and get exposed to classroom germs, like MRSA or H1N1 virus. Check out the new educational Web Site for kids, developed in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at www.oopkids.com. This kid-friendly Web site is designed to educate children about healthy hygiene habits and safety routines.

– This Web site is an expansion from an existing health campaign with the CDC – Ounce of Prevention.

  • Send school germs packing by encouraging your children to drop their book bags, take off their shoes and leave their coats at the door when they walk in. Send them straight to the sink to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds (long enough to sing Happy Birthday twice!) while you spray their bags with Lysol Disinfectant Spray to help kill bacteria they may have picked up from the school bus, the playground or the classroom.

Lysol Disinfectant Spray effectively kills 99.9% of bacteria on soft surfaces, including the family couch! (Press release available upon request)

For more information, check out the Lysol Back to School Information Center.

Lysol_disinf_sprayI love using Lysol Disinfectant Spray in the nursery, especially to spray down the diaper pail. The spray works great for virtually everywhere and is ideal for high traffic items like door knobs, garbage pails, backpacks, pillows, and of course toys! It kills 99.9% of ill causing bacteria on soft surfaces. It also helps control mold and mildew so don’t hesitate to use it on your shower curtain. I love how easy it is to quickly spray but still kill germs!

Lysol_disinf_togoAnd for easy disinfecting on the go, try out Lysol Disinfectant Spray To Go. How great would this be for a public bathroom stall or for a diaper changing station?

Lysol Disinfecting Wipes

Lysol Disinfecting Wipes 4in1 with Micro Lock work great to quickly clean and disinfect surfaces. I love using these in my bathroom, kitchen and on anything that attracts a lot of germs like appliance handles and light switches. I like that they are disposable and no mess yet still kill 99.9% of germs! They are so easy to keep in the under the sink in the bathroom or kitchen for a super quick clean up!

    I learned this:
    When speaking about chemical agents, there are four categories of germicides that cover a wide range of product chemistry and areas of use. They are sterilants, disinfectants, sanitizers and antiseptics.
    Neat stuff!

    I would use the Lysol Spray on the door knobs and handles. They always harbor bacteria. I would take some of the Lysol Wipes in my purse so I could wipe off grocery carts handles if the store did not make their own wipes available.

    Actually, right now, I carry a small baggie of Lysol wipes in my purse to wipe down carts at the store. They’re so germ ridden and I don’t trust the wipes they have there, if they even have them. I know I can trust Lysol to kill the germs!
