Ecostore began 15 years ago in New Zealand in an eco village which required all residents to be responsible for their own waste water. It was very apparent that the synthetic chemicals found in most supermarket cleaners were a obstacle and Ecostore founder Malcom Rand created new plant-based household cleaning products that were just as effective but would biodegrade safely and quickly.
All of our products are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients, free of toxic chemicals that bring people closer to nature with non-toxic, environmentally safe solutions that also help to reduce our carbon footprint. Our products also help to ensure value for the dollar for our customers. We know it can be expensive to buy natural or organic products but we’ve found a way to safely super-concentrate our formulations. Our super-concentrates means that a little really does go a long way – saving you money by cutting down significantly on cost per use
I was given the chance to try out both the Laundry Liquid Detergent and Lemon Rinse Aid. Here is a little more information about these products!
Product Description:
Ecostore USA uses 100% Certified Organic Eucalyptus oil and plant-based ingredients, making it ideal for washing your children’s clothing. Conventional laundry liquids often leave chemical residue on bedding, clothes and even skin. This product is a wonderful, healthy alternative. (33.8 fluid ounces)Ingredients
- Palm and Coconut based non-ionic and anionic surfactants
- Fatty acid derivative
- Mineral hydroxide
- Certified organic Eucalyptus oil
Product Description:
The Lemon Rinse Aid is that final touch to the cleaning of your dishware. Formulated with NO NASTY CHEMICALS, it will leave a subtle fragrance of Lemon Verbena. Use in conjunction with the Auto Dish Powder and see how it assists in drying as well. (6.8 fluid ounces)
Ingredients
- Plant based non-ionic surfactants
- Citric acid
- Hydrotope
- Lemon Verbena
- Water
I have to admit that I had never tried anything eco friendly in terms of cleaning products prior to this. Of course I like to be kind to the environment but I do it in other ways with recycling, light bulbs and reusable shopping totes for example. I think this is because I thought they wouldn’t be as effective at cleaning without chemicals.
The Laundry Liquid detergent worked really well to get my clothes clean. I was a little surprised at the liquid’s scent and not a huge fan but it didn’t translate to the end result. My clothes did not have the same slightly unpleasant smell (to my nose anyway) when they were finished washing. I found it to be effective at getting my clothes clean and I like that it is so concentrated that you don’t need to lug around or store a huge bottle. I do think that the bottle design could use a little work however. It is a bit hard to squeeze and could be difficult for someone without much hand strength or someone with arthritis. But the small opening does keep you from overusing and works great to tackle tough stains with just a little squirt directly on the fabric.
The Lemon Rinse Aid has a nice lemon scent and did its job effectively. I couldn’t tell a difference between this rinse aid and a typical rinse aid I’ve used in the past. And isn’t that what I’d be looking for anyway? A product that is just as effective without the chemicals?
Overall I’m happy with my experience with Ecostore products. You can try them out yourself and get free shipping on orders over $25 with no code needed! They have lots of other items including baby and pet care products!
