Felt Tales by Babalu ~ Holiday SPLURGE {Review & Giveaway #4}

babalu inc logo

Babalu is the company behind Felt Tales which are classic felt storyboards designed to encourage imaginative play and inspire young minds. Created for children ages 3-7 , these boards contain many movable pieces that can be used to create their own stories and scenes.

We got the chance to try out Felt Tales – Busy on the Farm. First and foremost, I was impressed by both the quality of the board and felt pieces and the quantity of pieces. There are so many that is it very difficult to use all of them on the storyboard at once without layering a lot of pieces. I love that there are so many to choose from and that there is a nice carrying handle and storage pouch.

October 2 2009 043I wasn’t sure what my three year old Lucian would think of it since he is just starting to use his imagination in this way.He surprised me by really loving it. And the best part? It is an activity that is quiet and keeps him still for a long time. Since coloring isn’t something he particularly enjoys, I am so happy to have another option for quiet and stationary creative play.

October 2 2009 046Lucian’s favorite activities with this story board are to drive the tractor around, feed the animals with carrots and change the position of the sun for different times of the day. The possibilities with this open ended toys are really endless!

There are many different Felt Tales Storyboards to choose from. I know if I got Lucian another I would choose this Heroes to the Rescue!Felt Tales Heroes to the RescueIf I had a girl, I can imagine that this Felt Tales Pups in the Park would be a big hit!

Felt Tales Pups in the ParkFelt Tales Storyboards retail for a very affordable $19.95. You can purchase them directly from the Babalu website or on Amazon.
