We got the Melissa and Doug Stacking Emergency Vehicles which combine two of Lucian’s favorite things: emergency vehicles and puzzles!
Lucian was so excited when this arrived and immediately started to play with them in a traditional way. I heard lots of self made siren sounds and saw a lot of pushing the vehicles around. Once he realized he could take them apart, mix and match the bases and and stack them back together it added a whole new dimension to his play. There are three to four wooden pieces per vehicle so while it is a puzzle, it isn’t one so difficult that he can’t put together. And of course it is wood so that is always a hit with me!

This is EXACTLY the site I needed for my holiday gift shopping, the more I can get at one store the better. I like the gift finder, because it will also sort by “unisex” so that you can find presents within a certain price range for both girls and boys—I have a lot of nieces and nephews to buy for as well as my own kids. I’m not sure why they don’t have an option for age “under 2″ because some of the toys seem appropriate for younger kids.

I used it the first time i entered this contest to find the book for my daughter, but I used it again to find the Racer Bikes for my 6 year old son.
