I know I’ve mentioned it before but my three year old son, Lucian, loves trains and enjoys watching Thomas & Friends and playing with his wooden Thomas train set. He loves making super long strings of many different trains and cars together and driving them down the track! So it came as no surprise when I received the newest Thomas DVD collection, Thomas & Friends: Holiday Express that Lucian would enjoy it.
We sat and watched the DVD together and enjoyed both the cuddle time and the holiday themed stories. While the stories are great, keep in mind they may be ones you’ve seen before if you already have a lot of Thomas DVDs. This isn’t a brand new collection and the style is classic and not like the newest CGI version of the show like Thomas & Friends: Hero of the Rails. (Love that movie!) Lucian loved the bonus holiday Thomas train included which features a Santa hat and snowflakes. He cracked me up when he said, “Look, Thomas is Santa for Halloween!” I gave this to him a day or two after Halloween and apparently it was still on his brain. I love how his mind works! The only bummer about the train it is isn’t a wooden train and doesn’t connect with his wooden railway system. Doesn’t seem to bother him since he plays with trains in so many other ways but definitely worth mentioning.

My son Milo, who is 2, has just been introduced to Thomas and is hooked! We have none of the DVDs or trains, and I am realizing the need to start collecting!!!
I would give this to my youngest son. He loves anything with wheels and Thomas is one of those shows that actually keeps his attention. Hopefully this DVD would do the the same.
I want to win this for my daughter’s pre-school class. I am trying to put a goody basket together for them and would love to add this dvd to it. They have very limited resources such as, books, movies and toys, and a couple of homeroom moms are trying to gather stuff up. I know the whole class and many classes after my daughter is gone will appreciate this movie.
