Maukilo is website specializing in safe toys that are meant to last and be enjoyed for years to come. All wooden toys available at Maukilo.com are finished with non-toxic, natural lacquers and plastic toys are made from child-safe, PVC-free materials. Maukilo’s goal is to provide toys that can withstand the test of time and be passed onto the next generation.
Because Maukilo is owned by the German company, HABA, you will find the largest selection of HABA toys and games in the U.S. with over 1,500 products offered! Here is just a tiny sampling of what is available!
You will also find other popular brands like Green Toys, Bilibo, Kettler and Plan Toys. Here are just a few of the Plan Toys available, one of my favorite brands. I love their selection of high quality wooden toys!
Another favorite while browsing this site is the fun Gymnic & Rody Giffi Jumping Giraffe. (Try saying that 3 times fast!) Made for ages 3 and up, this would definitely get a lot of use in my house! I love toys that provide ways for my kids to burn off some energy, especially in the cold winter months.
Maukilo sent us this Automoblox Minis Set to try out . They include the A9S Compact, X9X Sport-Utility and the M9 Sport Van but in a scaled down version. Don’t let the word “mini” fool you. They certainly aren’t what I would classify as miniature at 4.25 x 2.5 z 1.5 inches. To give you an idea of how big they are, I took a picture of them next to a matchbox car which looks tiny in comparison. Given that these are the mini, I hope it also gives you an appreciation for size for the standard Automoblox.
My three year old son loves anything with wheels and puzzles so this is the perfect gift for him. As with all Automoblox, the parts are interchangeable and he likes switching out the wheels most of all between the cars. By picking a mini set he gets to enjoy this feature at a cheaper cost then having to purchase more than one full sized Automoblox. Since they are made of solid German beech wood they are made to last and look great on a shelf. It is no wonder that they are a 2009 Parenting Magazine Toy of the Year. At $29.99 this makes a fabulous gift!
