My Tot Clock is the invention of Pamela, a mother who struggled to get her two year old child to sleep and stay asleep once he transitioned to a big boy bed. Sound familiar? After coming to the realization that her son just didn’t know what time it was, she decided to seek out a magic clock that used colors to tell toddlers the time of day. And I’m sure by now you guessed it, she could not find this magic clock and took it upon herself to create her own. (If want to read about the entire process from start to finish I highly recommend reading Our Story. Very interesting!)
My Tot Clock is so much more than a clock. Besides being a great bedtime solution meant for ages 2 and up, it also has the following features which are entirely customizable for your child and schedule.
- Teaches when to go to sleep (blue light) and when to get out of bed (yellow light).
- Plays bedtime stories, lullabies and white noise before going to sleep if desired.
- Plays fun wake music as the clock turns yellow if desired.
- Also has a light blue light for nap time, a red light for timeout and a green light for fun play/positive activity.
- Can use AC adaptor or batteries
- Blue light acts as a nightlight
- Easy to carry handle
- Programmable sleep times can be manually overridden
- Fun interchangeable faceplates
Seriously, is there anything this clock can’t do?
I had wanted this for my three year old Lucian. When he was two he was notorious for getting up super early after we transitioned him to a toddler bed. He was immediately fascinated with the different colors and within a day he understood what all the colors meant. So much so that I remember one night he even tried to convince me the light was still yellow even though it was obviously blue, just so he could stay up! Our schedule did make it tougher at the time to benefit from all the features but I can’t say enough good things about this awesome clock.
As you can see both of my boys love this clock. They would carry it around the house and push the buttons all day to make it change colors or play music if I would let them. Because of their fascination with it they certainly notice when it changes color and Lucian will immediately comment on it when the light turns blue. He knows it is time to get into bed for story time.
Lucian currently has great sleeping habits and I am fortunate that he stays sleeping through the night but I know I’ll be thankful for the My Tot Clock when Warren moves from his crib to a bed. For now, I’m just happy with all the wonderful features that we use on a daily basis including the night light, lullabies and a clock of course!
I think this clock is a fabulous learning tool with many options that can be tailored to your child. How amazing that it took this long for someone to come up with a sleeping solution and a way for toddlers to tell time with colors.
Now I just need two of them so there is no arguing over whose turn it is to push the buttons!
This clock retails for $49.95 and can be purchased directly from My Tot Clock or Amazon.

When I mentioned I was having difficulty with Lucian sleeping as long as I’d like in the morning, Pamela was right there with some great advice. Don’t hesitate to purchase from this company!

I like how the blue light acts as a night light. My boys share a room and they tend to get up too early on the weekends. I’d love to have this clock so they’d know it was too early to get up.

I like the color system that it turns blue when your child is supposed to be sleeping and yellow when they are supposed to get up. I would love to have this to help my child sleep through the night. We still get up a couple of times per night and this would help him understand when to go back to bed and when to get up.

I love the feature of the changing light colors. I have a 3 year old who is always asking me what time it is and obviously he doesnt have a concept of what the numbers mean so I think this would be a better way for him to establish time on his terms.
My sob story is that my boys can’t seem to stay sleeping all night! Around 2am one will wake up and cry and of course, wake the other up. THey both end up sleeping with me and tossing and turning the rest of the night.

My daughter didn’t sleep through the night until she was 16 months old and even then it wasn’t consistent. This mama bear thought she was going insane, was on the verge of seeking help until I started getting more than 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. It was amazing how much better life looked when I could think clearly. We then struggled with getting her to bed. Summer of 2009 we had the vacation from He** when she wouldn’t sleep in her pack n play. Co sleeping is NOT for me I tell you! Odd thing is not 2 weeks after that vacation she started going to bed smoothly and sleeping through the night on a consistent basis, this was 3 months before she turned 2.
This clock sounds awesome!!

My Sob Story:
Whenever I have my godson, he sleeps well through the night.. No big deal. But he goes to bed super early (because of the way that my best friend is [his mama]). And so around 6:00 a.m. he comes into my room, opens my eyelids and says “Are you awake yet?” — Every morning. I suppose it isn’t too terrible, but it’ll certainly wake ya up.

I love the light system on this clock that lets them know when it is okay to get up!
I think the best feature is just the fact that it changes colors depending on nap time or awake time – my daughter JUST BARELY made the transition to her “big girl” bed (which is really just a ‘daybed crib’, we took the side off after she fell out of it one night) And she’s tried to tell us “No, nun-nai” (no sleep!) so a clock like this would be fun, helpful AND make her sleep habits get so they’re regular!
I have 3 kids. My daughter, who is 2, didn’t start sleeping through the night until she was 17 months. We had a new baby a couple of months ago, so it feels like I haven’t slept in years. My 5 year old son is getting up really early and is ditching his nap. We are trying to train him to stay in his room until certain times even if he is just “resting” so that mommy and daddy can sleep.

All my kids love their naps – they need them & I rely on them, but they just hate going TO sleep. Well, my 6 yr old, when she was a toddler was AWFUL. If she didn’t get her nap – she’d be a demon, and if she DID get to sleep – it would have to be very particular. (As in – on my bed, with one of Daddys ties, a watch and her Bunny, sort of thing) Well one day, it was naptime, the usual process of “I want this and that” was going on – and one of her “things” was she wanted the backdoor to be left open (we have a child gate, it was summer – she wanted to hear the birds) so I agreed. Well I went about my house cleaning day & there was a knock at the door – my neighbor had found my daughter wandering down the road because she had piled her teddies up enough to climb OVER the gate, and take off! And me oblivious in the other part of the house!! To top that all off, she was cranky and tired and told my lovely, savior neighbor she “No LIKE you!!” over and over. The back door stayed closed no matter what after that!

1- My sleep sob story is when our oldest daughter, now 5, jumped out of her crib at 18 months (she was tall) & forced us to start the toddler bed transition. It was VERY difficult for her (& us!) and after trying every method, for about 3 weeks (along with many nights that I fell asleep on the floor next to her bed) She finally got used to it. Shes an excellent sleeper now!!

I really like that it has a built in night light. That was one of my kids biggest problems was they were afraid of the dark and had to have a light on.
I like that it tells bedtime stories which would be great for our daughter who likes something to entertain herself with when she goes to bed.
love the ocean theme
My sob story: I nursed my babies and made the HUGE mistake of putting them in the bed with me. I don’t think it is good for children to wake up to the sound of a loud buzzer, it is too jarring… So my favorite feature of this clock is that it will play music when it is time to wake up. Love this one : )

I love that it doubles as a nightlight! I also love the wake up time feature. My son is always getting up before I feel he should…. if I had this clock I could let him know not to get up before it is yellow!
I like the use of music to wake the children up, along with the use of color to teach them (and eventually get them used to) when to do which activity.
I’d like to win this for my friend, the mother of my God-daughter and God-nephew. She has a difficult time getting her son to fall asleep at normal times, and my God-daughter could use a clock as well since she’s now in school.
My second child had his days and nights mixed up, so I usually didn’t get to sleep until 4 or 5 in the morning, and then my first child was up at 8! NOT FUN!
i love the yellow wake up “time”! just this month, my kids have been getting up earlier and earlier! we’ve been using the sunrise as our cue to get out of bed, but come spring, that won’t work anymore!!

For my family not even ONE of my 6 kids would go to bed at a decent time. It was not related to too much napping, late eating or certain food or drink such as caffeine, Or even FEARs of sleeping. I am afraid we just have a bunch of night owls who just simply have it in them to be nocturnal. I was the same as a child and an incurable insomniac still. BOY…losing sleep for 28 years of mothering has really taken its toll with a body, can affect work performance, and definitely steals intimate time. Now with 3 still at home, our household is unchanged. I would have practically sold my SOUL for a chance to try the Tot Clock with my kiddos. I might then have at least ONE picture of me over the years without BAGS under my eyes, AND maybe we would have raised mere geniuses had our kids had uninterrupted sleep. THIS device might have encouraged them more and feel more in power over this, instead of dealing with frustrated parents who had to give in to save our sanity!!!
We now have two tiny grandkids whose parents would LOVE to try this clock. THANKS for the chance to gift it to them!!! My son is in college with little kids and works almost full time. THIS family NEEDS this!!!

sob story one – we’re still expecting our first child, but we do have a kiddo who occasionally stays with us – his mom is a single mom, and a friend. well, one night, he woke up in the middle of the night puking all over the bed – pajamas, sheets, comforter, all of it. We had to put him in the tub and wash the bedding – repeatedly – before that terrible smell came out! The room was funky for several days afterwards! – #1

my favorite feature is the night light with 5 levels of illumination because the boys are afraid of the dark
our 3 year old is going to bed at 11 pm and waking up, especially on weekends, by 7 am. and he often managesto climb into our bed in the middle of the night.
I love the time out feature, it would definitely help my independent little man!

I’ve heard of this clock & soo wanted it! I think it’s great that the children can visually cue that it is not time to get up yet! Love this concept!

Sleep? Our 3 1/2 year old is still in bed w/ us & our 2 week old is in a co-sleeper next to our bed! It is darn near impossible to figure out how to transition our son to his own room!!

There are so many faetures that I like, the bed time stories, the big numbers on it, the handle so you can carry it, the shape, and many more. My niece would love this.

My child used to wake up many of times during the night for his binkie or he was thirsty. Imagine that. he finally started sleeping thru the night at about five.

I like the feature where it says it plays fun music when its time to wake up. My daughter just pulls the covers over her head and ignores me! I think this is great and would be a great thing to get for my daughter. I think it’s time she learned to wake up on her own! Thank you.
I am subscribed. Thanks again.
I like that it can play music for sleeping or waking up… I could really use this for my daughter, who is always the 1st one awake in the house!
I like how the color on the front of the clock changes to indicate when to wake up!

my fave features is that it lets a child know when you want them to get up and I could really use one here. I have my grandkids 3 nights a week and I would love it if they stayed in bed pass 6am !

I love that you can change the face for about $10. My kids want their own clock to be like mom and this is cute.
My sob story…I am a night owl and they want to be up and going after I only get 4 hours of sleep. Now they want to stay up late and I never get alone time.

My daughter tends to be a VERY early riser, so this would be great to try to keep her in bed awhile longer!

My daughters sleep thru the night pretty well, but my 16 month old sleeps until 9am and my 2 1/2 year old gets up about 5:30! What the heck! I wish they would just split the difference! 1

I love the color changes to signal if it’s an in-bed or out-of-bed time. OUr 2 year old transitioned quite well to a standard twin bed from his crib but has lately started crawling into mom and dads bed in the middle of the night/early morning and this seems like something that could really help readjust that back to him staying in his own space.
The color indicators would be my favorite feature I think. My grandson is not ready to be out of his crib yet, but he does not go to sleep easily, so I expect it will be somewhat of a battle when he is in a ‘big boy bed’. I would hope this would make it a little easier on everyone when that time comes.

I was really very lucky with my kids–don’t remember very many bad ‘go to bed’ times. The worst one was really a ‘get up too early’ story–my older daughter had always slept in until I got her up (this was before her sister arrived), so I wasn’t ever too worried about her getting out of bed early. She was about 4, and quiet as a little mouse, when she broke that good streak with a vengeance. She got into the sewing room, cut out some ‘doll clothes’, and cut her hair–right down to the scalp in a couple of places. She looked really cute with a pixie cut, but after being teased about her boy haircut, has had long hair ever since!

Love that it does sooo much.. The stories and the night day perfect… Wee Man still has problems sleeping so that would be great
sob story… well Wee Man has always gotten up before the sun… and getting him to sleep is a hassle… Lil Kiwi has several medicine issues so her sleeping though the night is rare… I’m normally up half the night with her trying to get her back to sleep…
sob story #2
My older son is big on order and following directions. I think my son would really respond to the colors signaling bedtime and time to get out of bed. He always gets up early and wakes us up. I’m hoping that with this he would stay in bed a bit longer each morning.
My personal sob story belongs to my husband and I, as well as our younger son. She suffers from night terrors. It’s tough when he wakes up at 1 or 2 a.m. rambling about nonsense. I’m exhausted to start with because I’m pregnant. It’s so hard to get back to sleep. I feel so bad for my little guy and his being afraid and having bad dreams.

My favorite feature of this clock is the Built-in Discipline (Red Light) when a little timeout is needed. This would teach my daughter that the red light is for timeout.

I like that it has the built in blue nightlight….Thanks for the giveaway!
Love the idea of the bedtime stories, lullabies or white noise options to help the child soothe themselves to sleep. I used to play classical music (on a record player no less!) for my two kids, and when it ended they’d yell “Mommy…the record is done!” Now I have granddaughters who don’t like to sleep. They want a 24 hour action packed day!
I like the white noise feature. It would help my Chubby-huggy sleep because the other 3 older kids always make too much noise and wake her up!
The white noise is a great feature.

It’s great that it also has a built-in discipline timer when a little timeout is needed! I’d love to get this for my niece who doesn’t really understand the concept of time. It’ll make going to bed & getting up a lot easier!

Its a great learning tool – I especially like the Teaches when to go to sleep (blue light) and when to get out of bed (yellow light)- waking up and knowing when to get up can be a huge issue in our house
I like how the color changes. Definately a plus for small kids to know when to stay in bed and when to get up.
From the day my daughter came home from the hospital she slept through the night, I could lay her in her bed and walk out of the room (my son was a whole different story), I was in heaven. When she was 10 months old we moved to a new house, my heaven days were over. I would lay with her in my bed till she fell a sleep and then try to put her in her crib. I would be a foot from her crib and she would wake up and start screaming I lay her back down on my bed and she was out. I’m still trying to get her in her own bed and she’s 2. Sob Story #1

I love the light change indicator so kids can know when it is okay to leave their beds. Best idea ever!
I like that it’s multi-functional besides being a clock, it has a built-in discipline timer, plays music and is a nightlight! This would help me because my daughter likes to sleep late & wake up early. Maybe the different lights will help her understand when to go to bed/stay in bed!

My 6-year-old wouldn’t sleep alone until he was 4! My 3-year-old is just learning how to sleep in his room but he has no decided that he will only sleep in his brother’s bed. At least we’re making progress. My 4-month-old just decided that he will no longer sleep without being held so I guess we’re going through this again! #1
