My Tot Clock is the invention of Pamela, a mother who struggled to get her two year old child to sleep and stay asleep once he transitioned to a big boy bed. Sound familiar? After coming to the realization that her son just didn’t know what time it was, she decided to seek out a magic clock that used colors to tell toddlers the time of day. And I’m sure by now you guessed it, she could not find this magic clock and took it upon herself to create her own. (If want to read about the entire process from start to finish I highly recommend reading Our Story. Very interesting!)
My Tot Clock is so much more than a clock. Besides being a great bedtime solution meant for ages 2 and up, it also has the following features which are entirely customizable for your child and schedule.
- Teaches when to go to sleep (blue light) and when to get out of bed (yellow light).
- Plays bedtime stories, lullabies and white noise before going to sleep if desired.
- Plays fun wake music as the clock turns yellow if desired.
- Also has a light blue light for nap time, a red light for timeout and a green light for fun play/positive activity.
- Can use AC adaptor or batteries
- Blue light acts as a nightlight
- Easy to carry handle
- Programmable sleep times can be manually overridden
- Fun interchangeable faceplates
Seriously, is there anything this clock can’t do?
I had wanted this for my three year old Lucian. When he was two he was notorious for getting up super early after we transitioned him to a toddler bed. He was immediately fascinated with the different colors and within a day he understood what all the colors meant. So much so that I remember one night he even tried to convince me the light was still yellow even though it was obviously blue, just so he could stay up! Our schedule did make it tougher at the time to benefit from all the features but I can’t say enough good things about this awesome clock.
As you can see both of my boys love this clock. They would carry it around the house and push the buttons all day to make it change colors or play music if I would let them. Because of their fascination with it they certainly notice when it changes color and Lucian will immediately comment on it when the light turns blue. He knows it is time to get into bed for story time.
Lucian currently has great sleeping habits and I am fortunate that he stays sleeping through the night but I know I’ll be thankful for the My Tot Clock when Warren moves from his crib to a bed. For now, I’m just happy with all the wonderful features that we use on a daily basis including the night light, lullabies and a clock of course!
I think this clock is a fabulous learning tool with many options that can be tailored to your child. How amazing that it took this long for someone to come up with a sleeping solution and a way for toddlers to tell time with colors.
Now I just need two of them so there is no arguing over whose turn it is to push the buttons!
This clock retails for $49.95 and can be purchased directly from My Tot Clock or Amazon.

The owner and inventor of My Tot Clock is one of the most thoughtful sponsors I have ever had the pleasure to work with and I know personally that their customer service is top notch! When I mentioned I was having difficulty with Lucian sleeping as long as I’d like in the morning, Pamela was right there with some great advice. Don’t hesitate to purchase from this company!

I like how the blue light acts as a night light. My boys share a room and they tend to get up too early on the weekends. I’d love to have this clock so they’d know it was too early to get up.

I like the color system that it turns blue when your child is supposed to be sleeping and yellow when they are supposed to get up. I would love to have this to help my child sleep through the night. We still get up a couple of times per night and this would help him understand when to go back to bed and when to get up.

My personal sleep sob story is that I have a 3 1/2 month old baby girl who likes to wake up at 3 am and stay awake for at least an hour, cutting right into my REM cycle.

My son is 18 months old and falls asleep in his crib and then wakes up about 11 pm or 12am and if I can get him to go back to sleep he wakes up again aropund 1:30 am and then I usually am so tired that he ends up in bed with me.

I love the feature of the changing light colors. I have a 3 year old who is always asking me what time it is and obviously he doesnt have a concept of what the numbers mean so I think this would be a better way for him to establish time on his terms.
My sob story is that my boys can’t seem to stay sleeping all night! Around 2am one will wake up and cry and of course, wake the other up. THey both end up sleeping with me and tossing and turning the rest of the night.

My daughter didn’t sleep through the night until she was 16 months old and even then it wasn’t consistent. This mama bear thought she was going insane, was on the verge of seeking help until I started getting more than 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. It was amazing how much better life looked when I could think clearly. We then struggled with getting her to bed. Summer of 2009 we had the vacation from He** when she wouldn’t sleep in her pack n play. Co sleeping is NOT for me I tell you! Odd thing is not 2 weeks after that vacation she started going to bed smoothly and sleeping through the night on a consistent basis, this was 3 months before she turned 2.
This clock sounds awesome!!

I like the blue/yellow face…my 3yo niece has a NASTY habit of getting up in the night. This way, you can say “If the clock is yellow, you may come out of your room, if not…sorry, it’s still bedtime!”
love that it plays soft music

I love that the clock tells kids when it is ok to get out of bed… we need this because my three year old is often ready to play at 4:00 or 5:00 AM!
