My Tot Clock ~ Holiday SPLURGE {Review & Giveaway #22}

My Tot Clock HeaderMy Tot Clock is the invention of Pamela, a mother who struggled to get her two year old child to sleep and stay asleep once he transitioned to a big boy bed. Sound familiar? After coming to the realization that her son just didn’t know what time it was, she decided to seek out a magic clock that used colors to tell toddlers the time of day. And I’m sure by now you guessed it, she could not find this magic clock and took it upon herself to create her own. (If want to read about the entire process from start to finish I highly recommend reading Our Story. Very interesting!)

My Tot Clock

My Tot Clock is so much more than a clock. Besides being a great bedtime solution meant for ages 2 and up, it also has the following features which are entirely customizable for your child and schedule.

  • Teaches when to go to sleep (blue light) and when to get out of bed (yellow light).
  • Plays bedtime stories, lullabies and white noise before going to sleep if desired.
  • Plays fun wake music as the clock turns yellow if desired.
  • Also has a light blue light for nap time, a red light for timeout and a green light for fun play/positive activity.
  • Can use AC adaptor or batteries
  • Blue light acts as a nightlight
  • Easy to carry handle
  • Programmable sleep times can be manually overridden
  • Fun interchangeable faceplates

Seriously, is there anything this clock can’t do?

my tot clock_featuresI had wanted this for my three year old Lucian. When he was two he was notorious for getting up super early after we transitioned him to a toddler bed. He was immediately fascinated with the different colors and within a day he understood what all the colors meant. So much so that I remember one night he even tried to convince me the light was still yellow even though it was obviously blue, just so he could stay up! Our schedule did make it tougher at the time to benefit from all the features but I can’t say enough good things about this awesome clock.

My Tot Clock LucianAs you can see both of my boys love this clock. They would carry it around the house and push the buttons all day to make it change colors or play music if I would let them. Because of their fascination with it they certainly notice when it changes color and Lucian will immediately comment on it when the light turns blue. He knows it is time to get into bed for story time.

Lucian currently has great sleeping habits and I am fortunate that he stays sleeping through the night but I know I’ll be thankful for the My Tot Clock when Warren moves from his crib to a bed. For now, I’m just happy with all the wonderful features that we use on a daily basis including the night light, lullabies and a clock of course!

My Tot Clock WarrenI think this clock is a fabulous learning tool with many options that can be tailored to your child. How amazing that it took this long for someone to come up with a sleeping solution and a way for toddlers to tell time with colors.

Now I just need two of them so there is no arguing over whose turn it is to push the buttons!

Love the idea of the bedtime stories, lullabies or white noise options to help the child soothe themselves to sleep. I used to play classical music (on a record player no less!) for my two kids, and when it ended they’d yell “Mommy…the record is done!” Now I have granddaughters who don’t like to sleep. They want a 24 hour action packed day!

  16. 316
    Paula Harmon says:

I like the white noise feature. It would help my Chubby-huggy sleep because the other 3 older kids always make too much noise and wake her up!

Its a great learning tool – I especially like the Teaches when to go to sleep (blue light) and when to get out of bed (yellow light)- waking up and knowing when to get up can be a huge issue in our house

I like how the color changes. Definately a plus for small kids to know when to stay in bed and when to get up.

From the day my daughter came home from the hospital she slept through the night, I could lay her in her bed and walk out of the room (my son was a whole different story), I was in heaven. When she was 10 months old we moved to a new house, my heaven days were over. I would lay with her in my bed till she fell a sleep and then try to put her in her crib. I would be a foot from her crib and she would wake up and start screaming I lay her back down on my bed and she was out. I’m still trying to get her in her own bed and she’s 2. Sob Story #1

I like that it’s multi-functional besides being a clock, it has a built-in discipline timer, plays music and is a nightlight! This would help me because my daughter likes to sleep late & wake up early. Maybe the different lights will help her understand when to go to bed/stay in bed!

My 6-year-old wouldn’t sleep alone until he was 4! My 3-year-old is just learning how to sleep in his room but he has no decided that he will only sleep in his brother’s bed. At least we’re making progress. My 4-month-old just decided that he will no longer sleep without being held so I guess we’re going through this again! #1
