Vicks has been around for more than 100 years making over the counter solutions for our everyday aches and pains. This trusted household name has numerous products to help you prevent illness and give you some relief when you weren’t able to avoid getting sick.
The new Vicks Pediatric GermFree Cool Mist humidifier is the first of its kind. It has a patented UV light chamber that kills up to 99.9% of mold and bacteria. How sweet is that? It also has an automatic moisture balance system that naturally adjusts output for maximum comfort. Perfect for a child’s bedroom or nursery, this humidifier gives off a cool and soothing mist. It retails for $69.99.
This is a huge upgrade for our 22 month old’s bedroom. His old humidifier had a sloppy place for the filter and the water consistently looked dirty before it had run out. My favorite features, besides the obvious health benefits, is how easy it is to fill with water and how well you can tell it is working. While we like the look of the kid style one for our three year old’s room, it is tricky to fill the water chamber without spilling so I appreciated something this easy to figure out and maneuver. The light eliminated allows you to easily read the setting while in the dark, without being overpowering. It could easily double as a nightlight.
I did leave this humidifier on high once overnight and you could feel the moisture as you walked into the room. It was a little overkill but it is nice to have that option. Here in Minnesota it has been extremely dry as of late and this has been such a blessing.
The Vicks SpeedRead Insight Thermometer and Vicks ComfortFlex InSight Thermometer are a step up from the a basic digital thermometer and yet are very affordable ranging from $9 to $14. They both take accurate readings in only 8 seconds, are waterproof and have memory recall to help you keep track of the fever’s progression. The only difference between them is> the Vicks SpeedRead Insight Thermometer features a rigid tip while the Vicks ComfortFlex InSight Thermometer features a flexible tip.
I got the chance to experience the Comfortflex which I think would be my preference. I like the flexibility. The coolest feature that is found in both of these thermometers is the display which is large and armed with a backlight for night time readings. I’m usually straining to read the thermometer next to a nightlight or blinding myself by turning on a regular light. Another slick feature is that the screen displays green if there is no fever, yellow when the temperature is slightly elevated and red for fever. What an ingenious way to quickly let you know if there is cause for concern.
Another Vicks product to help you with your fight is the Advanced Soothing Vapors Mini-Waterless Vaporizer. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this out but will definitely be on the lookout for it when someone in my family is suffering with a cold.
Vicks soothing menthol vapors are now available in a convenient Vicks Advanced Soothing Vapors Mini-Waterless Vaporizer. This non-medicated plug-in releases up to 16 hours of Vicks vapors before the VapoPads need to be replaced and has intensity level controls to adjust vapor strength. It also features an independently controlled soft glow nightlight that allows you to adjust the brightness of the soothing light to your preference. SRP $9.99
Vicks products are available at WalMart, Walgreens, Amazon and other major drug stores throughout the country.

I try to avoid the flu by washing my hands often and disinfecting knobs, handles and frequently used items.
Make sure to wash hands frequently, get lots of vitamin C and sunlight.. and of course avoid people that are sick.
I try to avoid the flu by avoiding the crowded areas of people. Plus, I wash my hands religiously so to speak and don’t take chances.
I would love to win this because we have very dry air in the house and this would at least be good for the bedroom and help to sleep better with more humidity

We use lots of Germx around here. Even after hand washing we rub the germx all the way up to our elbows. We avoid crowded places & remove/change our clothes the moment we walk into the house. Many people don’t know your clothes can carry the germs too. So change your clothes when you get home & put them in the wash room & spray with disinfectant or wash asap!
When we were sick back in August we went thur 5 vick vapor rubs & lots of daytime & night cold meds….I had to use an inhaler too.
The vapor bath bombs rock too!
