Quality bakeware is certainly a key element to successful baking. I can’t be the only one who has experienced uneven cooking with my goodies burnt on the bottom or doughy centers. Cutting corners and saving money in some areas of baking are acceptable but bakeware, in my opinion, is definitely not worth it in the long run.
Wilton is like a fabulous partner in the kitchen. With lots of great recipe ideas, tons of tips and some fantastic tools in which to get the job done, they can truly help you become a better baker. One of their newest additions to the Wilton family of bakeware products is UltraGold. Wilton took their 80 years of experience and designed a line destined to exceed your expectations with these features:
1. Premium Aluminum- Every Wilton UltraGold pan is hand-crafted to ensure a perfect shape and better baking results for you. Aluminum is the best conductor of heat and it will never warp or rust!
2.Even Heating -UltraGold heats more evenly and holds its shape like no other brand. The premium aluminum distributes heat evenly for a light, golden brown cake surface that is ideal for decorating. No more cake skin flakes in your frosting! (This has happened to me and frustrates me to no end!)
3. Durable Anodized Surface-Anodizing creates a more consistent surface finish that gives it more scratch resistance, durability and a smoother surface for release and baking. It will also keep its beautiful golden hue and bake wonderfully for many years to come!
4. Oversized Handles for Easy Lifting – Convenient extended handles help you lift the UltraGold pan safely and easily and are designed with the oven mitt in mind. Pan dimensions are stamped on the handles so no more rummaging for the correct size pan and straining to read the dimensions on the bottom.
Sizes currently available include a 8,10 and 12 inch round, perfect for creating gorgeous layered cakes!
Two square sized pans include a 8 and 10 inch.
Also available are 11×15 and 12×18 sheet pans and the versatile 11×17 jellyroll pan.
My absolute favorite size however is the essential 9×13 inch pan!
When Wilton taps you on the shoulder (so to speak) and asks you to try out their new bakeware what is any good baker to do? Let out a high pitched squeal in delight! Bake, bake and bake some more using this Wilton line of course!
My two favorite features are the over sized handles and how surprisingly lightweight these pans are. This makes them so much easier to clean and put away and would be perfect for anyone who may not have a lot of hand strength.
I started out with some holiday baking with these peanut blossoms and moved on to making sugar cookies using the 11×17 jellyroll pan. They turned out beautiful and now I’m kicking myself for not taking pictures of the latter. (I used the Wilton Sugar Cookie for Giant Cookie Pans and just modified the recipe to a much thinner cookie that only baked for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Highly recommend!)
My cookies turned out picture perfect and cooked very evenly. They came right off the pan without greasing, however I did notice that they took a little less time to bake than my other aluminum bakeware. Keep that in mind and set your timer for a minute or two earlier than usual to prevent over baking.
I then moved on to these Cherry-Topped Brownie Dessert Squares from Pillsbury for New Years Eve. Are you drooling? They were awesome and the 9×13 worked perfectly for this dessert.
A couple days later I made these cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I know, I’m a bad girl for trying these bad boys out but they did turn out gorgeous did they not? No worries about burnt bottoms or doughy centers with these puppies. Just soft, gooey and golden yummy goodness.
Have I kicked in your sweet tooth yet? If you’re chomping at the bit to add Wilton Ultragold to your baking arsenal, you can purchase them directly from Wilton or at your local Michael’s or Jo-ann Fabrics and Craft Store.
