Bucky the Buckle Turtle {Review & Giveaway}

Playing with buckles is a very common and much loved activity for many toddlers. My 25 month old Warren has been obsessed with buckles for many months. He drives me a little nuts constantly playing with his booster seat and car seat in order to get his buckle “fix”. Unfortunately the activity is short lived since as soon as he buckles it I’ll hear cries for help to undo them immediately so he can buckle it once more. He has also pinched his little fingers more than once.

I’m not the only one with a child who has a love of buckles. Jill Gomez founded Buckle Toys because her son had a similar buckle obsession. The first in the Buckle Toys line is Bucky, the adorable turtle featured below. He has four brightly colored buckles and a zipper back which can hold additional toys. Bucky also features colorful numbers on his belly and shapes on his shell for even more learning opportunities. Made for children 15 months and up, Bucky is designed to grow with your child.

Warren loves Bucky! It definitely keeps him entertained for extended periods of time and is one of his favorite toys. While he isn’t old enough yet to unbuckle them himself, it does make it much easier for me to simply sit with him or let him bring Bucky to me to undo his buckles. I enjoy watching the concentration on my son’s face as he plays with this toy. I love that it helps improves his fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  Bucky is very soft and cuddly and is the perfect size for travel. My favorite feature is the no pinch buckles so I don’t have to worry about his little fingers getting pinched! How cool is that?
