A few days ago my parents stopped by for a visit and I thought it would be cool if Lucian showed them how well he can sing his ABC’s. He has known them for a while but for whatever reason, our usually super outgoing son gets bashful when you ask him to sing anything in front of a group. So I wasn’t really surprised when I asked him that he turned his head and got quiet.
No big deal, we moved on to something else. Until all of a sudden he says, “Stop! You have to listen to me!” Umm, ok. And then he starts saying his ABC’s in a way I’ve never heard before, super fast and without the usual singing! He got excited by how fast he went and our reaction to it I’m sure that he kept doing it, over and over and over again. We were cracking up so of course I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera to capture the moment.
So without further adieu, this is Lucian saying his ABC’s, super fast!
When I asked him to keep going on the video I meant to finish it with the “Now I know my ABC’s” part but he started over from the beginning instead.
My kid is such a ham.
Does your almost never shy child also get embarrassed to sing in front of people too?

Cute! My son loves to perform and ham it up for people, but he gets this really sweet and shy look when he’s done and is waiting for the reaction. I love it, and this reminded me I should get my video camera out more often to record it!
