Lysol has recently introduced the No-Touch Hand Soap System as a revolutionary way to help keep hands healthy. Perfect in the kitchen or bathroom, it automatically senses hands and dispenses antibacterial soap that kills 99.9% of bacteria, including E.coli, MRSA and Strep. The hand soaps are also enriched with moisturizing ingredients and available in three fresh scents: Soothing Cucumber Splash scent, Cleansing Green Tea & Ginger scent and Refreshing Grapefruit Essence.
What I love about this product:
This hands free system works wonders when I’m tackling extra dirty jobs such as handling meat and changing dirty diapers. I love being able to quickly and easily get soap without worrying about maneuvering my regular foaming pump with the back of my hand or wrist. This is especially helpful when I’m holding a squirming kid over the kitchen sink!
I also like the light feel of the soap and the refreshing scent of the Cucumber Splash. It rinses off easily and leaves my hands feeling nice and smelling great. Definitely not too overpowering. I can’t wait to try the Grapefruit as I’m a sucker for fruit scents!
This system can also be a great incentive for kids to want to wash their hands. Anything that is automatic certainly grabs my boys attention and makes them more likely to choose to wash on their own without me having to remind them. My three year old often struggles with soap pumps so this is a great solution for kids or people without a lot of hand strength.
What I think could be improved on:
I wish that the dispenser had different an option for less soap to be dispensed. With this option I could simply stick my hand underneath the sensor to get more if needed. While it may be the recommended amount, it seems a little excessive at times when my hands really aren’t all that dirty but I’d still like a little soap. I’m sure I’ll go through the refill faster than my usual soap simply because I don’t have control.
Because it is automated it does present the small annoyances that come anything that is automatic. I wouldn’t call the sensor overly sensitive but I have set it off from not being careful while wiping my counter/sink area down and it did dispense soap several times in a row without anyone standing all that close once. I figured it was from a shadow and by moving the system just slightly it stopped. If I had not been in the kitchen when it happened I could have lost a lot of soap however. Thankfully I have mine directly over our sink so it wasn’t a big deal to clean up.
And while it may be a benefit for some children, the automation might make them want to play with the system. What is more fun than causing the system to dispense soap into your hand? It could prove to be irresistible to little ones.
Overall: I think this system is a great way to conveniently wash your hands without the worry of contamination on soap dispensers. The grievances I had with this product wouldn’t keep me from purchasing the product but I think they are helpful for anyone to know upfront.
Buy it: LYSOL No-Touch Hand Soap System Starter Kits are now available at Walmart for a suggested retail price of $9.97 (includes 1-dispenser, 1-8.5 oz. hand soap refill and 4 AA batteries). Hand soap refills have a suggested retail price of $3.47. Starter kits and hand soap refills will also be available at grocery, drug and mass stores nationwide.
