EcoTools is a line of bath and cosmetic accessories that are eco-friendly. Sustainable resources such as bamboo, cruelty-free taklon bristles and recycled and recyclable materials are used. They are continually seeking new ways of improving the environment. Alicia Silverstone has also paired with this company to create the newest line of cosmetic brushes. I am so anxious to get my hands on her newest book too- The Kind Diet- have you heard of it?! I think it sounds amazing. Alicia Silverstone is dedicated to Green-living and is a big advocate for an earth-friendly lifestyle.
For this review I received a Bamboo Bronzer Brush and the Bamboo 6 Piece Eye Brush Set.
THIS EARTH-FRIENDLY SET SHOWS RESPECT FOR THE PLANET:Highly sustainable bamboo handles100% cruelty-free, soft taklon bristlesRecycled aluminum ferrulesNatural cotton and hemp cosmetic bag (6 piece brush set only)Reusable storage pouch
I have found that make-up brushes sometimes are too long for me to put in my little make-up bag. I really enjoy these that they are nice and small, and even in the fabric re-usable pouch, they fit well in my bag.
The larger Bamboo Bronzer Brush seems to be rather tight and hard to use for powder…then I realized it said Bronzer Brush. So I tried for bronzing and I thought it worked much better for bronzer than loose power. It may be that it needs to get broke in a little bit to get used for loose power. Still, I really love this line of Ecotools and God knows how much I love my bronzer! J
To be honest, besides all the amazing and fabulous eco and earth friendly aspects – I love that the eye brushes say on them what they should be used for…each is labeled Blend, Crease, Highlight, Shade, and Smudge.
This line was also featured in the Instyle Magazine (April 2010), Real Simple (April 2010), Redbook (April 2010), Seventeen (February 2010), and People (February 2010) …Seriously to name just a few.
Overall I love a company that wants to work for a better environmental impact and Alicia Silverstone is quite fabulous…now to try her kind diet sometime (not really a diet but a lifestyle change)!
Buy it: Ecotools carries a whole line of cosmetic tools and even body care items. You can get them at many drug stores, specifically Walgreens and Target. The Bambo Brush retails for about $9.99 and the Eye Brush Set for about $7.99 – I even saw them at our local Target. Check out this full list of EcoTools retailers for more options!
