Super easy, My husband is serving in the Air Force right and is being shipped off the Iraq in a few weeks. I’m very proud of him and all the others who are serving for the correct reasons (I say correct because I have met some that seem to of joined so they can harm others, just plain horrible. Luckily most of those I met have already been discharged).
I am most thankful for all of the miliotary personel who have given of their lives and given up their lives to protect our country. Thank You!

My younger sister, Stefanie, was in one of the first deployments sent to Iraq back in 2003. She’s home safe and sound, thankfully, but her sacrifice makes me feel so much more proud to have the freedoms we do!

I am SO grateful for all of those past and present who have served our country in our forces, to keep our freedom intact. I also thank ALL those ‘behind the lines” who have to make the hard decisions, the clergy, and even those doing all the other jobs that are military related.
My family member served in Nam and passed away just 5 years ago from possible war-related chemicals with a RARE cancer. He shared some of his war related stories with my daughter once, as part of an interview for High School…it was the ONLY time he spoke of the war to our family. He was only 19 when he was called into action and lost a LOT of war buddies over there. I hold him in the highest esteem and anyone who does this JOB of all JOBS. My 13 year old son wants to join the US Air Force when he “grows up”. I have mixed feelings, but I do know that SOMEONE’s sons and daughters have to do it!
My daughter just took a job at the VA hospital in our city…I am actually proud that she will have a work setting where at 23, she will hear a LOT of stories and will learn to be VERY proud and protective of our military heroes…whether they did WARTIME or not…they are ALL still HEROES and deserve the best of care and the highest of honor!
Boy…these posts are tough on the heart and leave a knot in your throat and the typing sure gets BLURRY for some reason!

Currently in the military I have more than a dozen friends and family members. The closest would be Jeff (army & cousin), Todd (army & cousin), and Ryan (navy & close friend). I’m also fairly close to nearly everyone who shipped out of my town’s naval recruiting center for nearly a year. They’re all so amazing and I couldn’t imagine life without them. I’m just so thankful for all that they do to protect us, whether here or abroad.

My brother serves, he’s in the marines and he’s actually doing his second tour overseas soon so Im very very grateful for him and his fellow troops that help keep him, and us over here safe!

My Nephew is in the National Guard now (age 20) My husband retired from National Guard after 21 years. My FIL was full time Air Force. My cousin was a Marine, and my Grandfather was in the Navy in WWII. My husband’s grandfather also served in WWII, and my husband’s Uncle was in the Navy. Two of my cousins are Army Reserve and have been to Iraq. We are very proud of their service and thankful for their sacrifices. lanemarinab@aol.com
