Healthy & Chic Dining for Kids with Blue Apple Books {Review & Giveaway}

Eating at the table and eating healthy are a must in our house. I love when eating healthy (and at the table) can be a fun time. When I was growing up, my mother had all sorts of various educational placemats we ate on. It is a fond memory to me. I also grew up eating really healthy, as my mother is one of the originating people back in the 70’s to embrace what today is our local Co-op. Eating Tofu Brownies was a regular treat…and yes, I may be starting to make more sense to you all now!

All this reminiscing to present Blue Apple Books and Dwell Studio and their creative and GREEN dining accessories. For this review I received a copy of Are You Eating Something Green?, a tear-off paper placemat pad (retail $9.99); Bibs to Go, tear-off pad of bibs (retail $12.99); and EAT, a board book (retail $6.99). How can I not think of my childhood when I see these? Along with the gift of health these parents using these products are giving their children.

Blue Apple Books, well-known for their smart, creative products has “cooked” up a terrific giveaway that will make mealtime a happy, healthy and chic affair! This giveaway has everything parent and baby needs to dine in style, including:

Are You Eating Something Green? – 36 colorful placemats that help kids learn colors and discover which foods are delicious AND nutritious! Flip the placemat over and kids can keep themselves busy coloring in the fruit or veggie while Mom and Dad get to eat in peace!

Bibs to Go – Sporting designs from the high-concept brand DwellStudio, this pad of mod, take a long bibs will keep baby clean AND looking good!

EAT – Also featuring the signature clean and funky look synonymous with DwellStudio, EAT is the perfect marriage of uber-cool board book and all things that make baby go YUM!

Truly, these products are a stylish and healthy in a way of presenting an educational and eco mealtime to our little ones. The placemats are really enticing, each one is a little different in featuring a different fruits and vegetables by color. It was fun for my daughter to identify the fruits and vegetables on each of the placemats.

With all the junk and unhealthy food out there, these products really reinforce healthy behavior at a young age with our children. It’s cool to eat well! It’s cool to take care of our bodies by putting good fruits and veggies in them!

The second and really important aspect behind the bib, book, and placemats is the convenience. They are all on a tear-off pad and ready to go.

I love that with the placemats are printed color on one side and ready for coloring on the other side. I do wish, however, that they had some re-usability (maybe an acrylic coating of some kind?) to them because they are just so neat and to preserve them for a little longer life. I also have a hard time throwing things away after one use. I see myself using the placemats on more than one occasion, even on the go. The bibs are also ready for the go and really for traveling in my mind. In those instances, it’s really is nice to not keep a bucket full of wet bibs, towels etc. along. These are healthy, chic and creative on the go. Not to mention the contemporary designs and illustrations! The art geek I am really appreciates the aesthetically pleasing visual elements to these three products.
