Travel in Comfort with Undercover Bears by Lug {Review}

I’ve been a fan of Lug for a few years.  This cool company is dedicated to make work and travel not only more stylish but efficient and comfortable! Whether your travel plans include a trip across the country or across town, Lug has you covered.

Lug hit the scene in 2005, when founders Jason and Ami launched the brand with offices in Dallas and Toronto. Our focus was travel—how to get there smarter and with style. A business based on luggage belts and coordinating tags has grown to bags, big and small, plus a slew of smart solutions that fit for travel, work, play, and everyday.

Perhaps you remember one of my very first reviews of the Lug Puddle Jumper Gym/Overnight Bag. I am still in love with this bag and it still looks fabulous! They also have a ton of other travel products in such an array of colors that it makes me drool thinking about my favorites like their Tango Travel Wallet and Flatbed Slim Laptop Bed.

One of their newest creations was the Undercover Bears by Lug. These cute guys are so much more than your average stuffed friend!

Available in 10 fun colors, these lovable bears contain a generous and super plush 35″w x 46″h sized blanket that is folded within the bear. A unique feature is the inflatable pillow which folds neatly into a pouch within the blanket so a single bear contains both a pillow and a blanket that can be used at the same time!  All pieces are machine washable so you need not worry about spills!

We chose Agent Oscar to test for our trip from Minnesota to Texas. I chose orange because that is my four year old’s favorite color and I thought I was getting one of these bears for my kids. I quickly realized that while the bears are great for children they certainly are not only for them.

On our way from Minneapolis to Houston we had the pleasure of sitting in the very last row of the plane. With kids that can be a good and bad thing. While we are out of the way, in that particular plane the seats did not recline. Reclining seats are important when you’ve been up since 3:30 am.  My son got to use the inflatable pillow and I used the blanket but my husband was stuck using a stuffed animal. At that point we really wished we had another Undercover Bear.

Another side effect of airline cutbacks, pillows and blankets are no longer provided. Since we were on our way to over 100 degree weather we dressed for the climate. You never can tell if your plane will be stifling hot or cold and on this day we were actually freezing on the plane, even without the air blowing on us. (Other passengers were actually complaining.) It worked perfectly to have the UCB with us. I was able to easily fit the bear in my tote under my seat and it was such a luxury to have a nice soft blanket so close at hand. The bear is the perfect size for a small pillow and has a nice carrying strap so you can easily attach it to your luggage or stroller.

Overall Thoughts

I was expecting something that would be good for my children during travel but I’ve realized that these are perfect for adults well. I will be traveling for another blog event early next month and you can be certain that Agent Oscar will be traveling with me. Our UCB made our trip more comfortable and I am definitely looking to purchase a second one for our next family getaway. These would work great to keep in the car as well for longer trips!
