My four year old son Lucian has really taken a liking to this book. He has asked me to read it many times already and has brought it to read in his bed at night more than once. The soft verse combined with bright watercolors are what I think attract him. He will ask me throughout the story which flower is the one talking and we’ve had conversations about what exactly might be going on in the picture with each verse.

This book is unique and a sweet tale of friendship, belonging and growth. Therefore I’ve added it to the Gifts Girls Will Love section of my holiday gift guide, although boys will like it too!
