Getting a Quick Coffee Fix with the Keurig B40 Elite from CoffeeCow.com {Review & Giveaway-CLOSED}

I love coffee but I tend to only drink one or two cups in the morning so I was giddy to try out the Keurig B40 Elite. I am tired of wasting coffee! I was lucky to get the Keurig B40 Elite starter collection which includes a organizational caddy (sweet!) with assorted k-cups and a CoffeeCow.com travel mug. This the perfect way to sample a lot of different types of coffees so we could identify our favorites, including Caribou Coffee’s Caribou Blend, which came in first for my husband and myself. It certainly beats buying an entire box of something we don’t care for and just made it plain fun for the first couple of weeks with our Keurig home brewing system.

Making coffee with the Keurig B40 Elite really couldn’t be easier. The B40 will heat up for a couple of minutes when you first power it on.  If you don’t have enough water a light will come on telling you to add water.  Simply add water to the reservoir, which is super easy to remove from the unit.

Once the unit has had a chance to warm up a bit, add your K-cup of choice and push down on the lever. You’ll know it is time because the heat light will come off and the blue lights will turn on the cup options.  Choose the strength of your cup by pushing the button with the smaller or large coffee mug.

Almost instantly the coffee will start filling your cup and you’ll have a wonderful hot but not scalding cup of fresh coffee. I’ll admit my husband and I became a bit addicted and started having coffee throughout the day, not just in the morning as usual. Having something that will quickly and easily generate a cup of wonderful coffee was hard to resist.

We also love using our brewer for items like hot cocoa, teas or even oatmeal. While the system does have hot cocoa and tea options available as k-cups, we found having something that quickly gave us the perfect temperature of just hot water was such a blessing!

Tassimo Versus Keurig

We also have a Tassimo T20 home brewing system so we do have something to compare to this Keurig B40 Elite. When deciding which system is right for you it is important to consider how you’d like to use your home brewer. If you are looking for specialty coffees such as lattes then the Tassimo would be a good choice. Currently Keurig doesn’t offer specialty K-Cups that perform this task, however they do have a much better selection of coffee styles and brands than Tassimo. So if you are looking for good quality coffees, including flavored coffee, the Keurig system is perfect.  Also keep in mind the specialty coffees offered by Tassimo are definitely more expensive.

Another thing to consider is your space. My Keurig B40 is about twice the size of my Tassimo T20. If you are limited by space then you might need to consider a smaller model of Keurig or choose the Tassimo system. Whichever system you decide is right for you, CoffeeCow has you covered!
