EarthBound Farm Cookbooks & Tasty Organic Foods {Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

This summer has been eye opening for me. From several visits to my local farmer’s market to  buying a deluxe juicer to get more micro nutrients into my body, I was much more aware of just what exactly was going into my body. My husband now juices several times a week  (with my first trimester  my stomach wasn’t interested in it but I’m hoping to go back to it soon!) so we are constantly buying larger quantity of fruits and vegetables. I do try to buy organic whenever the budget allows and I’ve found that the large selection of Earthbound Farm Organic produce at my local grocery store makes it that much easier.

A couple of months ago Earthbound Farm sent us an amazing prize package including many of their organic products like plump raisins, flavorful dried cranberries and small organic cookies that my kids of course loved.

But the first products to go from the package were the two bags of organic granola that we received. My husband has been eating granola almost daily since this winter as a hearty breakfast and the perfect snack after a long run. He loved both the flavors, including this maple almond variety. Now I just need to discover where I can purchase it locally because he is still raving about the texture and flavor!

I also receive two cookbooks by Mrya Goodman, co founder of Earthbound Farms.

Myra Goodman has been labeled the “Queen of Greens” by More and is recognized as a pioneer in bringing the organic food and specialty salads to the masses.  She has been featured on Oprah as the woman behind the salad-in-a-bag and interviewed on Live with Regis & Kelly as one of the country’s foremost experts about organic food. In THE EARTHBOUND COOK: Recipes for Delicious Food and a Healthy Planet she shares 250 fabulous recipes, as well as easy tips to keeping a green kitchen, so we can all help protect our planet for our children and for generations to come.

I assumed before looking at the cookbooks that they may not be something for my family. While I enjoy using organic foods and being environmentally friendly when I can,  I’m still pretty far away from all natural cooking and always being green . I thought the recipes might not fit into my family but I found both of these cookbooks to be fabulous additions to my cookbook collection. Chock full of wonderful recipes that any family can enjoy, both of these cookbooks seek to educate the reader.
From explaining citrus fruits to explaining why garbage disposals aren’t so environmentally friendly, these books will appeal to every family and explain ideas in a non pushing way.

From breakfast to dessert and all the meals in between, these cookbooks are sure to make your mouth water!

While many of the recipes are for healthy living, there are plenty of recipes for everyone, including this chocolate lover’s brownies. Mmmm…

Earthbound Farm would like to offer one of my readers the chance to win this same package worth over $100, including their famous Organic Maple Almond and Organic Cranberry Pecan granolas and Organic Ginger Snaps, Chocolate Chip and Lemon Snap cookies, delicious and healthy Organic Raisins and Dried Cranberries and signed copies of Myra Goodman’s (Earthbound Farm’s co-founder) two cookbooks: THE EARTHBOUND COOK: Recipes for Delicious Food and a Healthy Planet; and FOOD TO LIVE BY: The Earthbound Farm Organic Cookbook. The gift box also contains two $5 and two $1 coupons good for Earthbound Farm organic salads, fruits and vegetables. Yes, that is free organic produce!

I haven’t been much into cooking organically but truly thinking about it after learning about all the horrible chemicals they can put into fresh fruits and veggies! There are so many organic products out there that I would love to learn so much more about!
