One item my husband and I both loved when we brought our babies home for the first time was our bassinet. It was borrowed from my sister and already had gone through several kids but it was a lifesaver. I loved being able to put our newborns right next to the bed without actually co-sleeping. It worked great for those middle of the night feedings to have our baby so close by. And I know it certainly gave me piece of mind, especially as a new mother.
What our bassinet didn’t have was a current style. It now in my sister’s storage and having gone through 6 kids over the course of 13 years it was time to look at a new bassinet for our upcoming arrival. I discovered the Contours 3- in-1 Bassinet from Kolcraft and fell in love.
This bassinet features a bassinet, removable moses basket and changing table all in one. My favorite feature is the modern neutral design which makes it even easier to use this over and over again. The wood certainly makes this bassinet feel more like a real piece of furniture and gives it a more upscale feel.
The basket has very durable and easy to use handles which makes it simple to remove and carry throughout the house. This is fabulous for travel or for transporting around the house. While the entire bassinet itself includes easy to roll casters, it is nice to have the option of just a moses basket as well, especially if you plan on being on a different level of your house. Also included in the basket are mesh side windows to increase air flow.
The bottom of the bassinet features a large section for storage. This is great for changes of clothing, burp cloths, blankets and other necessities, especially if the bassinet is farther away from the nursery. Either way, it makes everything close at hand which is a blessing in the middle of the night.
A hanging organizer with mesh pockets perfect for necessities like diaper rash cream and a diaper stacker are also included. This is just another convenience built into this bassinet.
The changing table is stored underneath the basket and only takes a moment to switch out. It easily attaches to the top and would allow you to use the bassinet for a changing table, even after your baby has outgrown sleeping in the bassinet itself.
With the storage provided below and to the side, all items needed for those diaper changes are close at hand.
This bassinet is classy, well-built and more narrow so it doesn’t take up as much precious space as our old one! Easy to use instructions made it simple for my husband to put it together in about a half hour or less. I can now say goodbye to the ruffles and the larger design. Sigh…. can you tell I’m very excited to try this new bassinet with my baby?
