Little One Books: Books and Music for Baby {Bump to Baby Giveaway} CLOSED

I recently had the chance to experience music from the birth to 12 month category at Little One Books. I received Guitar Lullabies by Paul Greaver and I’m so happy with the choice!

Using the intimacy of a solo acoustic guitar, Paul Greaver creates a calm, peaceful space to drift away into the land of dreams. Paul arranged traditional lullabies and related songs from a variety of cultures and designed the CD to be a soothing, gentle, innocent, elegantly pure and simple recording to be enjoyed by young children.

One of my most treasured memories was when I first became a mom was bringing my now 5 year old son Lucian home for the first time. He fell asleep in the carseat and I remember putting in an instrumental lullaby CD once we arrived home. Within a minute I was sobbing, telling my husband that I can’t believe he is ours and I how I love him so much. The CD was played often to soothe my son to sleep and was a sweet reminder to myself how I felt about being a mom. Soft music is not only soothing for babies but also generates an emotional response for parents and helps create an strong connection. (At least it  certainly did for me!)

Guitar Lullabies was exactly what I was looking for in terms of lullaby music. The soft instrumental music did wonders to make me feel sleepy as I listened and brought me back to that place of emotion with babies. I can’t wait to play it for my new addition! You will find many favorites on this CD such as Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Rock -a-By Baby Hush Little Baby but also songs that I never knew the names of but recognized immediately like Noumi Noumi, Sua Gan and Song of the Water Kelpie. Love it! If you appreciate the guitar you will not be disappointed with this CD!

This larger board book is perfect for little hands to explore and will hold up well to a little abuse! From the incredibly soft duck tummy to the rough dog paw, the bright colors, assorted textures and simple text is perfect to delight young children.

Both of my boys love to be read to and this started from a very young age. I look forward to adding Fuzzy Fuzzy Fuzzy to our library and sharing it with our new baby!
