After breastfeeding both of my boys I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll be breastfeeding my third child. Because I worked full time when both of my babies were small it was extra important that my boys learn to feed from both my breast and a bottle. Even though I won’t have to place my baby in daycare this time around, I learned how important it was that my husband was able to feel the bonding I felt during feeding times. He loved that time and would certainly want to experience it the next time around. I also realized how convenient it was when we were traveling or out of the house to be able to give a bottle of my expressed milk versus nursing. It was so nice to have the option to do both!
Tommee Tippee offers a wide selection of feeding products from bottles to sippy cups and everything in between. Their closer to nature line seemed like the perfect choice as the nipple is made to mimic the breast, making it easier for baby to transition between bottle and breast.
I received the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Newborn Starter Kit. This includes:
- Four 9fl oz bottles,
- Two 5fl oz bottles,
- Three formula dispensers
- One bottle and nipple cleaner
I removed a bottle from the set to check out the bottles closer up as I’ve never used a Tommy Tippee bottle before. The first thing I noticed was look and feel of the nipple. It his a wider neck to make it easier for baby to latch on and it definitely looked much like a real nipple.
These bottles feature a anti-colic, anti-gas, advanced easi-vent™ valve which is designed to make feeding easier for your little one. The bottle itself features graduations in mls and ounces clearly labeled on the side of the bottle in easy to read black numbers. Also includes are hygiene caps which seals the nipple for easy travel.
The most exciting feature for me at this point is the wide neck which allowed me to place a regular sized cleaning brush (included) into the bottle! This may seem like a small feature for some but as a mom who washed many bottles using strange angles with a skinny bottle brush, I am thrilled about the idea of being able to easily access all areas of the bottle.
I also appreciate that the bottles are loaded down with several parts like my brand. These BPA & phthalate free bottles are lightweight and feature a very ergonomic design. I can’t wait to try them out firsthand with my new baby!
