Bright Starts InGenuity Cradle & Sway Baby Swing {Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

When I became pregnant with my first child, family members were quick to offer some baby equipment to help out. One of the items we received used was a swing. Unfortunately that swing wasn’t in perfect condition when we received it and ate batteries like no tomorrow. Subsequently we didn’t use it all that much with Lucian. By the time Warren was born I don’t believe we even brought it out and instead relied on a bouncer that he never really liked all that much anyway.

It is amazing the variety and quality that is currently available with baby swings. I really had no idea what I missing with my other two boys until I received the InGenuity Cradle and Sway Swing from Bright Starts for my new baby in a gender neutral print.

Premium fabrics adorn the seat to offer a comfortable arrangement, while multi-directional swinging capabilities allow you to rotate the seat 180 degrees for versatility. With soft seat padding and a removable newborn head support, the seat provides comfort that is sure to please your little one. A five-point safety harness ensures that your little one will stay securely in the seat, while eight melodies and three nature sounds with soothing vibrations keep your baby comfy. The removable tray with two plush toys is great to keep your baby occupied, and the removable mobile at the top ensures that your little one will stay entertained.

I don’t know how I would have survived the first week home without this swing. It has been a lifesaver for when I need to put Wesley down.  We actually set this up in our unused front entryway off from our living room which keeps him safe from his older brothers playing but keeps him right where I can see him.  Whether he is sleeping, fussy or bright eyed and happy, he has enjoyed being in his swing! He often falls asleep and loves a soft sway with the nature sounds which include rushing water, crickets and wind.
 I love the soft plush fabric and head support offered to keep my little guy comfortable. The extra touches such as a soft cover for the 5 point safety harness are very much appreciated.

A mobile along with tray and attached toys comes with the swing, although we haven’t had the opportunity to try those out yet. I look forward to having those options for when he is older for entertainment.
Working the swing is very easy and user friendly. Simply choose how long you’d like the swing to sway (30,45 or 60 minutes), at what speed and if you’d like sound. Then simply choose your favorite sound either from the melodies or nature selections.

My only complaints are that this particular model does not come with the plug in option that other models in the InGenuity line do. While batteries are supposed to last 3x longer and we haven’t yet had to change the batteries after two weeks of use, it would be great to a plugin as well.  That being said, I did learn the swing tested at speed 3 lasts for 300 hours on a single set of batteries while speed 6 lasts for 180 hours.

I also wish that when you chose the length of time for the swing to sway, the sounds would stay on for the same length of time. We are often walking over to continue the nature sounds for Wesley and it would be convenient if we had the same time options.
