I love crafting, and doing it with my 3-year old daughter is often the highlight of my day. But let’s face it, as parents sometimes we just don’t have the time to gather the materials necessary or come up with a unique idea to get those little minds excited and engaged. That’s why I was excited to try this new subscription service called Kiwi Crate.
Each crate is packed with materials and step-by-step instructions to make at least two projects. We had plenty to keep us busy all morning. Our crate had a space exploration theme with a rocket and solar system to assemble and decorate.
They sent enough materials to do several rockets so we’re saving those for fun with friends. What a simple idea yet so fun to put together and play with later! Kiwi Crate lists the crafts as appropriate for ages 3-7 and I’d agree with that. My daughter needed quite a bit of help assembling the actual rocket but she had fun picking out the colored paper and taping on the decorations. I’m sure older children would be capable of doing the entire thing on their own. Either way it was fun to do together.
My only suggestion would be to increase the quality of the tape included. Although the tiny tape dispenser with refills was cute and a great idea in concept, the actual quality of the tape was poor.
That’s a minor complaint compared to the pure fun this box contains. All of the other materials provided were top notch quality and variety!
Nora especially had fun with the paint project! Take a look at a few of the other crates that they show previews of on the Kiwi Crate. I thought I’d share a few here.
Kiwi Crate is quickly becoming the hottest must-have item for kids among celebrity moms and top toy experts. Featured recently on the TODAY Show with toy expert Stephanie Oppenheim, as well as in the current issue of US Weekly, Kiwi Crate is a must have item for parents with children aged 3-7. Kiwi was also featured this month with Tory Johnson on Good Morning America. Each crate is designed by parents, reviewed by a panel of experts and tested by kids and includes all the supplies needed to complete at least two projects.

Loves these, such a great idea! Nice there was enough materials to do more than one rocket
This is such a great idea for a rainy day when you just don’t have the energy to come up with something creative on your own. They look like a lot of fun and educational too.
I am so going to have to try this out for my son. He loves things like this especially if he gets the chance to color and read in the process. and it saves me from running to Michael’s and figuring out projects for the week.
Thanks for sharing! Definitely worth looking into Kiwi Crate – i’ve worked with a lot of preschoolers and this idea is fantastic. Can’t wait to craft it up with my son once he’s old enough
this is a great product………love that it has everything you need in one place!
