Lately I’ve been on a big COOL WHIP Whipped Topping kick. If you are a regular reader of my baking blog Oh My! Sugar High you may have seen some original recipes like my Chocolate Marshmallow Dip, Patriot Parfaits and Chocolate Dessert Nachos, all featuring COOL WHIP. Now I’ve gotten used to it always being available in my refridgerator or freezer and I’m realizing just how handy it is to add some “wow” to  those everyday desserts.

Last weekend we enjoyed some awesome sliders for dinner and topped the meal off with some strawberry banana shakes. I don’t treat my family to a special dessert every day but I do try to at least once a week. My four year old loves to help me bake and all my boys love to eat my every day desserts. They don’t always have to take a long time in the kitchen but they certainly leave some lasting memories.

While any shake looks good, I think that the COOL WHIP makes a shake look great. Seriously, which of these two shakes would you rather have?

I rest my case.

I find to get a nice peak when using COOL WHIP, the trick is to stir a bit and fluff it up on a spoon before adding a dollop or two to get a nice peak.  Yum! And adding some garnish with color really makes the dessert stand out.

These look delicious! I love cool whip, even just straight from the container. And yes the shakes on the right look so much more yummier with the cool whip, who knew it would make such a difference in looks
