Ginger Sesame Grilled Chicken with Peppers & Rice {Recipe} #HormelFamily

Because I love working with brands, I’ve decided to partner with Hormel Foods on their Extended Family Preferred Blogger program.  Not only is Hormel a brand I purchase often but it is also a company from my home state of Minnesota. Hopefully I’ll be able to share some great recipes, entertaining tips and products with you along the way!

To welcome me into the program and to get started cooking with their products, Hormel sent me a box full of goodies. In that box was my new best friend.  A jar of House of Tsang Sweet Ginger Sesame Grill Sauce.  I had no idea this stuff even existed and I was crestfallen to learn that this particular variety isn’t available to me locally. They do sell other products from this brand however and I hope they are just as good as this one!

What makes this sauce extra sweet? Besides its fabulous flavor, this sauce is so versatile. It can be used as a marinade, as a grilling sauce or simply as a dip straight out of the bottle for really any type of meat or seafood. It also isn’t spicy so my picky five year old even thinks it is delicious!

I had plans to try it out for the first time with our grill. I marinated our chicken the entire day but when my husband got home in the 97 degree heat and realized we were low on gas for our grill, he asked to keep it simple with our George Foreman grill instead. Works for me!

With it we created this wonderful dish of chicken with sauteed onions and peppers served on a bed of white rice.

This isn’t so much of a recipe as a simple throw together meal for any day of the week. It was really so simple.

Hormel wants to remind you that  you don’t have to travel far in order to have a good time. Instead of vacationing, enjoy your own grilling stay-cation in your back yard! Recreate the perfect vacation getaway including with destination themed meals and décor!

Hormel Foods has several recipes that are sure to bring some fun to your home’s grill in just a few minutes. Ideas include:

  • Hormel Cure 81® Hawaiian Ham Kabobs. Throw skewers of Hormel Cure 81® cubed ham, pineapple and cherry tomatoes on the grill and create delicious Hawaiian-inspired kabobs.
  • Give a dish a new tasteful Asian twist with a House of Tsang® grill sauce. Perfect for chicken, beef or even seafood, the Tokyo Teriyaki grill sauce or our Sweet Ginger Sesame sauce which combines the unique flavor of ginger, the earthiness of sesame seeds and the sweetness of a little sugar. (Sound familiar? YUM!)
  • Bring the Greek isles to your backyard with a Mediterranean Island Pizza. Top grilled pizza crust with Peloponnese® sweet pepper spread and sprinkle on the toppings of your choice including feta cheese, Peloponnese® Kalamata pitted olives and Peloponnese® roasted florina sweet pepper strips.

This sounds fabulous to me! We don’t have much in the way of travel plans this summer but we are planning a weekend getaway for my son’s birthday next month. How about you?

Do you have any special travel plans this summer? What ethnic foods do you enjoy?

Ooh. That looks good. I love Asian food and its so hard to make at home. I think the sauce you used might be just the ticket. Especially, if I used it with fresh veggies from the garden!

The Tsang Sweet Sesame Ginger Grill Sauce really makes the dish. I am not sure I can find that at my local store, but I will see what they have.
