I love encouraging imaginative play in my children. There is so much joy in their faces as they get involved in pretending to play different roles. One of their favorite things to play is restaurant. They pretend to take my order and then prepare pretend food for me. Now they can take that even further with their new Servin’ Surprises Cook ‘n Serve Kitchen from Fisher Price.
Includes table with convertible stovetop, removable oven and “magic” serving tray, 4 slices of pizza with toppings & pizza cutter, 4 cookies with cookie sheet, 2 place settings: forks, spoons, cups & plates. Requires 6 AA batteries.
I knew that Danica and Kurtis would love the interactive play center. What I didn’t anticipate was how much Keegan would love it too. At not quite 2 years old, his attention span is very limited, but he LOVES to play with this kitchen set for long periods of time. I think he really likes it because it is a perfect height for him to reach, with the oven below the table where he can easily see and reach in and out of it. He also loves anything that plays music, so he plays the musical serving tray over and over!
One of my favorite features of the kitchen is the table design. Most kitchen sets are flat, only allowing one or two children to use them at a time. Because of the table design, all three of my kids (plus a couple of friends) are able to play around the table at the same time. It is funny because it isn’t something I thought about much before we received it, but I noticed right away how easily they were all able to play together around it.
Another WONDERFUL feature is the storage contained in the center of the table. All of the serving utensils and food fit easily into the center of the table making clean-up a breeze for the kids. Once everything is in the table, there is a cover to cover the center. The stovetop also flips over and the oven is removable converting the table into the perfect size work table for my kids and their art projects or snacks or whatever!
The table adjusts easily to two different heights making it ideal for multiple ages and also slightly smaller for storage.
By far, my kids favorite part was the pizza and pizza cutter. They ALL fight over who gets to cut the pizza and enjoy serving me either my choice of pepperoni or veggie pizza.
We all LOVE our new Servin’ Surprises Cook ‘n Serve Kitchen and Table and the kids play with it often. The only issue we have had with it is that the oven door is a little flimsy and doesn’t always close right away unless you push on one side of it a certain way. Otherwise it is a very sturdy table and the accessories are very nice quality.
