Share The True Spirit of Christmas with World Vision {Giveaway}

It’s easy to get caught up in the spirit of shopping, buying, wrapping and forget the true spirit of giving that is truly important this Christmas. Let’s remember the gift that was given through Jesus Christ as we gather with family and friends and appreciate how fortunate we are for the little things in life. Let World Vision be your reminder this year and read more here about what they continue to do each day to make a difference around the world.

World Vision has an opportunity for you to give back through World Vision’s Maximum Impact Fund, where you can give the gift of hope and life. With a donation of $25 or more you receive a free gift. You can of course give again by gifting these beautiful items to someone you love. Some of your choices include items made by micro-enterprising artisans around the world. The sale proceeds from these items directly benefit their communities.

  • Tie the beautiful beaded ornaments to napkin rings as a vivid tabletop decoration. The set includes three handmade Zakale wire and bead ornaments from Nairobi. Meaning “reuse,” Zakale crafts are made from recycled materials by a group of Kenyan artisans reclaiming their own lives from poverty.
  • Dish up a holiday salad with unique hand-carved serving spoons made with care to benefit orphans in Kenya.
  • Accessorize for a holiday party with silk scarf from the coast of Thailand. After the harvest season, the women of Thailand’s Surin Province put down the farming tools and take up the loom to hand-wove the beautiful Sabai scarves.

Making a donation to someone around the world can seem like an obscure thing. Does it really help someone? It does! My church (independent of World Vision) has participated in changing lives through drilling wells in Africa. The simple, yet so important gift of clean water can change so many lives. We’ve purchased goats and cows for missionaries in India. How can a goat make a difference? Take a look at this illustration from World Vision.
