Lands’ End Boys Waterproof Squall Snow Pants Offer Quality and Warmth {Review}

Now that both my boys have worn Lands’ End winter clothing including parkas and snow pants, it would be very hard for me to consider anything else for them. Not only are these items high quality, perfect for handing down to each of my boys, but they keep them extra warm in our very cold winters.
Lands End Squall Snow Pants Boys Thankfully my boys can still fit into their Lands’ End parkas another year but Lucian’s snow pants from last year just fit him so I looked forward to trying out the Lands’ End Squall Waterproof Snow Pants in deck grey.

They are similar to our black pair from Lands’ End which Warren is currently wearing. The only thing I missed with these new pants was the velcro waist which allows me to get an even tighter fit than with the elastic alone. Lucian needs slim pants and unfortunately these are only available in regular size until boys size 8 which are also available in husky or slim.

While the waist is a bit big for Lucian, these snow pants have much of the same features that I have come to know and love from Lands’ End including snow gaiters at the hem to keep out snow and add additional warmth. They also have double layered nylon knees and seat which is so important when they are wearing them day in and day out for school recess. (If only all of Lucian’s uniform pants had that for gym!)

You’ll also find PolarThin™ insulation to keep these pants light and easier to move around in and Grow-a-Long legs which add another 2?. I have found that this extends the wear another year which I really appreciate. While these pants might cost a bit more, they are well worth the price. And since I have three boys, I’m able to get even more value out of our Lands’ End gear!

I love how they have the velcro to adjust the waist. I have skinny little ones as well and I can never find a waist that fits their length as well. Thank you for the review

I didn’t know Lands’ End offered these. I would love to get some of these for my nieces. I really like the snow gaiters at the hem that keep the snow out. I also like the Grow-a-Long legs which add another 2 those are great so they can last a couple of winters. Thank you for the great review!

I’m also a big fan of Land’s End, but find those expensive! Eek!

These look incredible! I really need to buy these!

  12. 12

Those look so warm & cozy. Perfect for the snow!

  13. 13

We don’t get snow very often (once every couple of years) being in the desert. I do like the feature of Grow-A-Long because I know snow pants are not cheap and to get more than a year’s use out of them would be getting more for your money :)

I didn’t know Land’s End made these! I’ll be ordering some for the whole family. We have snow bibs, but we all know those are outdated! :-)

I hated wearing those pants when I was a kid.

  19. 19

Love those pants! They look awesome! The zipper at the bottom is totally helpful for big ‘ol snow boots, too.

The snow pants look great…I want some in my size! I like the idea of the PolarThin™ insulation so they are not too bulky but still warm. Thanks for the review!

Land’s End has always been worth it for my money…no matter what I have gotten from them, the quality has been top notch. These pants that you reviewed are just great…the extra length in the pant leg, the adjustable weight…and the extra layering in the knees and seat of the pants… win/win all around!

  22. 22

I actually had these pants (or their version 15-20 years ago) and I really loved them. I am the oldest of four and remember all 3 of my younger siblings also wearing the same pants – thats how good the quality is!

  23. 23

i also prefer a velcro waist over elastic..and you’re right these look very high quality!

  24. 24

I like the zippered gaiters and the extra on knees and seat where we all know little kids beat up.
