This year’s Super Bowl was certainly an interesting one. Even if you weren’t a huge football fan there were still plenty of surprises to be had during the game.
At one point I said, “Well there goes the game!” then to my surprise I was able to say, “And just like that we have a game again!”
I’m always disappointed where one team dominates in a big way. Not only is it not all that fun to watch another team get crushed (unless it it your team doing the crushing), I always like to think that each team was able to “represent” and showed they earned their spot in the Super Bowl. My favorite games include those where either team could win in the end.
From big plays to power outage delays to commercials that both made me laugh and made me disgusted, this was a Super Bowl to remember for sure.
Did you catch the Tide Miracle Stain commercial?
I was so bummed because I waited for it during the third quarter but by the fourth quarter I needed to help get the kids to bed. My husband came into the back room chuckling about it, explaining how Joe Montana appeared in a stain of a 49er’s fan but his wife, a Ravens fan, washed the stain away. He loved it!
After the game I immediately went to You Tube so I could see it for myself. And low and behold, I found the best commercial from the Super Bowl for any true football fan.
While I have always been lucky to have a Vikings fan for a husband, we live on a border town. A border town with our neighbors in Wisconsin. And anyone who lives near a border such as this, will understand how fierce the rivalries can be. I’ve known plenty of people who have border battles raging within their immediate families, with half the family sporting Vikings jerseys and the other half Packers. Usually it includes a lot of jest and banter back and forth.
I get it.
I understand the love of the game.
The love of your team.
And I like how Tide played on this love to create a funny commercial any fan can appreciate.
In an age where too many of the commercials go for shock value to get people talking, I’m happy to see a company create a commercial for the fans of the game being aired. And one that anyone can still get a good laugh.
