YES! Oh Emilie....it can be SO difficult....I don't know if it's a gender thing or what but I seriously find myself shaking my head in wonderment at times. : ) Mostly it has to do with how he handles the kids just in general. I just have such a different thought process and I wonder how he gets from point A to point B with his decisions.....I know...random...

My husband loves handyman projects, and he's good at them. He's built our deck, wired outlets, installed sky lights (that don't leak), gutter guards, built an arbor, storage for the garage, etc. But what puzzles me is that each project takes him FOREVER to complete. I'll find him sitting there, staring at a project and I just want to say, "move it, just get it done!" Right now I have a slide-out spice rack project that's in mid-completion, wood and cabinet paneling scattered on my kitchen floor.

That's hysterical. My husband doesn't have figures like that - his vice is electronics. He'll spend HOURS upon HOURS fixing some random connection or making something hi-tech for no reason. Well, he thinks it's necessary and I can never tell anything's different. Oh well...

I'm lucky that so far he hasn't spent money on any hobbies or collectibles but he is prone to buying toys on our trips to Target simply because I think he wants them as much as they do. Thankfully they are all inexpensive. But case in point, Warren gets to pick out an action figure but there is a bad guy there that we don't see often in the stores and then Joe has to buy it for himself so they can battle. *cough* This is how Joe ended up with action figures in his stocking at Christmas too.

My Dad was in the same boat with only two girls. And when I look back to when I was little some of my fondest memories are of him letting me "do" his hair while I sat on the back of the couch with a squirt bottle and comb and a whole lot of barrettes and hair ties.

My husband is really good at cleaning but horrible about setting things to right afterwards. So the bathroom might be clean but I'll walk in and there is no towel and all the essentials like hand soap, toothbrushes, etc aren't in place. He never exactly "finishes" it. I"m just happy he is finally starting to remember to put the vacuum away when he is done. (We typically spend Saturday mornings cleaning together.) I don't complain though because I'm just happy to have a guy that WILL clean with me. I try not to sweat the small stuff.

And no, my husband can't half the time remember where he puts stuff either. That is my job. :)

Funny! Men and their toys!

My husband leaves me scratching my head a lot too, but it's mostly when he does something like "cleaning" and just stuffs things into random places. Inevitably we'll (meaning ME) will be looking for those items a little while later and he'll have absolutely no recollection or clue as to where he puts them. Argh!
